Because if the small size of developments management is not monitored,! leaving holes in the operation…* the food is for the mist part not edible! . -*Personal care is superb!*there is a lovely garden area accessible to memory care. The rooms are large as the facility is oldest.*If food was COMPLETELY REVAMPED! & considerable more attn was given to detail & svcs by mgmt! this facility would indeed rank as five star.* Only one caregiver has been the opposite of kind & professional & has had free rein to exhibit this behavior & attempt to influence others with no mgmt interventionUPDATE: I walked in today today to a brown filled toilet & closed blinds again again, drawer contents strewn on the bed & the entire candy dish gone & found empty in the enclosed grounds behind the memory care bldg. Yes, we figured out the continued plundering culprits… Her room is. Or her own…* if I could post the pics I would do so…

Outstanding care, homey atmosphere,attentive, kind staff. We are visiting a family member here on family dinner night. Every staff member has been accommodating and helpful to us and our family member. The facility is lovely with a nice dining room/ snack area always set up with beverages and a variety of snacks for residents. The extensive schedule of daytime activities has really helped our family member settle in and thrive,including, music andgames. She has made a number of friends in a short time. The food was delicious corned beef and cabbage with potatoes andcarrots. Homemade biscuits and shamrock sugar cookiesfor desert. Everyone had seconds! We loved sitting on the lanai and enjoying the fresh air. Kirby , the therapy dog is a popular visitor.There are too many great things to list. This facility exceeds all expectations!! A happy place!

Discovery Commons, an assisted living facility, is the perfect place for my sister in the memory care unit. After living alone for several years, she Is enjoying eating meals, playing games, and exercising with the other residents. She is very happy there.

I am eternally grateful to Discovery Commons. I needed to place my mother in Memory Care last month on very short notice. The Executive Director, Stephanie, and Memory Care Nurse, Christine, along with the wonderful staff welcomed my mother and have provided her the environment and support she needed. With their help, my mother has improved and is now placed in Assisted Living at their facility. I highly recommend them to care for your loved ones.

I moved my mother into Discovery Commons a little over two years ago, and I couldn't be happier with the decision. The staff is caring and attentive, and do their best to make sure that my mother is comfortable and happy. The facility itself is cozy and well-maintained, and there are plenty of activities and amenities to keep my mother engaged.

Discovery Commons is a first rate ALF first and foremost due to their caring and sincere staff . I’ve had nothing but positive experiences with everyone there and the head nurse , Christine , is totally dedicated to the patients in a environment that is at all times challenging , to say the least .

Been a wonderful 4 year Experience and in my heart I feel there will be more..Very close knit community and Staff..top of the line when it comes to Residents and there care. It was and honor to cook and do what I have done at Dicovery over the years. In all honesty BEST SENIOR LIVING FACILITY in town..would want my mother and in laws in a place like this if they had to be in one! 6 stars if I could!🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡

We just had to Transition my Grandmother here and I’m very pleased and satisfied with this facility along with my family! The staff are friendly and my grandmother is well cared for ❤️ The facility is nice and clean. We definitely made the right decision.

I am a healthcare professional with years of experience in the industry and work with many seniors in the greater Sarasota/ Bradenton area alongside a team of nurses, therapists, and physicians. It has been a tough year in this industry and few places stand out in the community that are doing it right. I rarely highly recommend any community that doesn't check all of the boxes...a clean, safe, and friendly enviroment with compassioniate and knowledgable staff. Great ammenities, modern and beautifully decorated. There are many communities that are Aesthetically pleasing but lack the same beauty in the people that support and care for the residents, I can say without any hesiation not only would I recommend this community without reservation to my clients... I would move in my own family. Today I toured the new Independent Apartment building it was amazing! So exciting to see such a well planned out space that seems to have captured every little detail to provide safety and to socially enrich their residents lives. From the pool with cabanas, numerous exterior sitting spaces (a beautiful firepit and grill) the large indoor gym, movie theater, and gorgeous dining area. A variety of apartment plans/sizes to accommodate anyone. Julie, Penny, Sammy Jo, and Parker are amazing and extremely informed and experienced in the senior housing industry! If you haven't toured this property yet and you are in any position to influence or assist seniors in finding a forever home please do so soon! I truly believe they have raised the bar in Senior housing!

My Dear sister, my best friend, has lived at Discovery Commons for over 3 years. She is content and happy, well cared for. The staff know her and respect her needs. Knowing she is in this small, caring environment gives me the strength to be by her side through this dreadful disease.

This is home. The staff is devoted and truly care about the residents. It's a happy place. A small community in a quiet intimate setting, delightful dining room, elegant living room. The spacious, private rooms with private baths have nice views of the lawns, trees and shaded back enclosed area. Hot wash cloths before meals, changing menus, served in a comfortable, clean dining room. Holidays celebrated with live music, refreshments and decorations. Your worries fade when your loved one is a resident at Discovery Commons. Kudos to Stephanie, Exec. Director, and her dedicated staff.

My mother has been a memory care resident for over a year. The entire staff are beyond exceptional. It is a very caring and accepted atmosphere where memory care patients are treated with dignity and respect. Activities are happening daily and residents are constantly being engaged. Our family couldn’t have made a better decision for our difficult situation. Mom is So very happy at her new home!

I am a healthcare professional who is working with some residents there for Physical Therapy. I am very pleased with the staff and how they treat their residents. The nurses are friendly and are timely when handling emergency situations. I would recommend both the memory care and assisted living for anyone who wants to age in place gracefully.
